Tell about a time when someone went out of his/her way to help you.

Observation

1. What attitude did the man with leprosy show?
2. What was Jesus' reaction?
3. What attitudes did the friends of the paralytic exhibit?
4. What were Jesus' reactions?
5. What was the crowd's reaction?

Interpretation

1. If Jesus' mission was to die for our sins, why did he take the time to heal the man with leprosy?
2. If you were the paralytic, which would have meant more to you:
   A. Forgiveness of your sins
   B. Ability to walk

Application

1. Do you need to experience God's mercy for the forgiveness of your sins?
2. Do you need God's mercy for any situation in your life?
3. Because of the paralytic's friends' actions, Jesus had the opportunity to show mercy. If there is anyone you know who needs God's mercy, pray for them now and throughout the next week.
